HARRIS TREE
The Harris tree is what you will find in 95% of all Harris saddles. It features Quarter Horse bars, and a slightly tilted swell, along with an oval shaped cantle. We always pair this tree with our equitation seat which is great for Horsemanship, Pleasure, Trail and Western Riding. The equitation seat is designed with a noticeable rise in the front portion of the saddle seat that is designed to sit you back in the deep seat pockets and hold you in that position. This tree and seat combination is very versatile and works for a large variety of horses, riders, and disciplines.

LEGACY TREE
The Legacy tree was designed in partnership with several world-renowned horse trainers with years of experience in the saddle. Combining an understated cantle and low back end with and upright and prominent swell, this tree stands ready to serve any horse and rider in a variety of disciplines. We designed the Legacy tree to sit down low onto the back of modern day futurity horses and offer the rider a close contact & feel that is unrivaled in today’s saddlery. This tree’s cantle is oval-shaped and designed to hug the rider and provide perfect support without interfering. The Legacy features a pleasure seat that is designed to help you sit back in the saddle and ride with comfort and confidence.

G3 TREE
The G3 was first introduced in 2018 and has become immensely popular since. The G3 features a round-style cantle instead of the oval shaped cantle which allows the seat to have a very deep dish and sit you back on your seat pockets. The G3 tree also has a vertical swell which stands up straighter and provides the look of a deeper seat. We always pair the G3 with a pleasure style seat. The pleasure seat is much flatter compared to the equitation seat. It is designed to offer the rider a different fit that offers more options for maneuverability. Riders are using the G3 tree for Pleasure, and it is especially popular for Trail.

VERSATILITY IS KEY
One common principle that we constantly strive to promote is the importance of versatility in a western saddle. That is why we pride ourselves in custom building our tree designs to transcend the various factors of fitting a horse and rider. Our designs are the culmination of a lifetime of saddle making and are built to work on a variety of breeds, age, riding ability, and body types. After all, a Harris saddle is an investment and often times needs to be used on multiple horses in a variety of show disciplines.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Are all of the tree options available in both show and work saddles?
Yes, you can get any of the tree options in both show and work saddles. In fact, we strongly encourage our customers to train/practice in the exact same setup as you would use to show. This gives continuity for both you and your horse.
Is it possible to test ride the different tree options before deciding?
Yes. Check our show schedule to see what events we will be attending soon. We have loaner saddles for each different tree style that you can take and test ride.
Do you offer custom made trees for my horse?
No. We do not recommend custom making a particular tree to fit a particular horse. Horses are like people, and their bodies change as they age. A saddle should fit a horse well but should also be versatile enough to fit your horse as it ages. Making a saddle to fit a particular horse at a particular time in its life is just not practical.
Any of the of the saddle trees more highly recommended than another?
No. We do not believe that any of our tree offerings are better than another. Some riders may prefer one particular tree over another but none of them are superior to the next. It’s just a matter of personal preference.
